{Water’s Farm} Apple Crisp

This recipe holds so many fun family memories for me. Every year on the first weekend of October our family and pretty much the whole town enjoys the festivities of a little hidden gem in our town.

Ingredients

  • 6 Pounds Apples ,peeled cored and sliced
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg

For the topping:

  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown sugar
  • 1 Cup Oatmeal
  • 1 Cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 Stick Unsalted butter ,softened

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 Degrees F. Set a 9x13 pan aside.

For the Base

  • In a large bowl toss apples with all the the ingredients to coat.
  • Spread into a 9x13 pan.

For the topping:

  • In a medium bowl mix all of the dry ingredients together. Add the butter to the dry ingredients with a fork or pastry cutter to form crumbs.
  • Spread over apple base.
  • Bake on middle rack of oven for 1 hour.
  • Remove and cool.
