How to make Dried Pineapple Flowers

  • 1 Pineapple

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200 Degree F and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside 2 muffin tin pans. Enough for 24 pineapple slices.
  • Slice top and bottom off of your pineapple and remove outer skin.

  • Slice your pineapple as thinly as possible. About 1/8 of an inch. The thinner you can slice it the quicker it will dry out. Some of mine were thicker than others so I had to keep checking them and some came out of the oven sooner than others. 
  • Place your slices on your parchment lined baking sheets. The amount of slices you get will depend on the size of your pineapple. I got about 24.

  • Place in the oven. Cook time is going to vary greatly depending on how thin your slices are. Check them after about 30 minutes. I needed 1 hour for mine. When they have darkened in color and seem dry enough, flip them over and put back in the oven for another 30 minutes- 1 hour. They may not all be the same thickness and some may need to be removed sooner than others.  Once they seem dry enough remove them and place them in a muffin tin to form them.

  • Let them sit overnight in the muffin tins to hold shape and continue to dry out. Place on cupcakes or a cake to decorate. You could also use them to dress up a salad, cheese platter or drink! Use your imagination!
