Homemade Applesauce

It's time to head to your local orchard and pick those crisp juicy apples!  Apples for pies, crisps and Homemade Applesauce! The perfect way to celebrate Autumn!

Ingredients

  • 6 Pounds Macintosh apples ,peeled,cored and chopped
  • 1 Cup Apple cider or juice ,water can also be used
  • 1/2-3/4 Cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon ,optional

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes until the apples are softened and juices thicken.
  • Remove from heat and cool. At this point you can blend in a food processor or blender for a smooth applesauce or leave as is for a chunky style sauce.
