- 8-10 Bone-in skinless chicken thighs
- 2 Red peppers cut into strips
- 2 teaspoons Dried basil or 2 Tablespoons, freshly chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Crushed red pepper optional
- 2 Cloves Garlic ,Chopped
- 1 1/2 Cups Red wine
- 2 ,28 ounce cans Crushed tomatoes
- 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Heat oil in a large skillet on medium high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
Brown chicken thighs on each side. Set aside.
Fill crockpot with all of the ingredients. Add chicken pieces, coat with sauce. Cover crockpot and turn on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Serve over pasta or rice.
