Sweet, buttery, salty, “Liquid Gold” goodness! This 3 ingredient Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce can be whipped up in about 10 minutes!
Salted Caramel Sauce is so easy to make and only requires 3 simple ingredients. I use it for many of my favorite recipes here on Family Table Treasures like my Salted Caramel Cupcakes, Chocolate Cupcakes with Salted Caramel Filling, and my Apple Pie Cupcakes with Salted Caramel Buttercream.
Salted Caramel Sauce can totally take your dessert to a whole other level of delicious! Sure a bowl of vanilla ice cream is yummy but drizzle some of this “Liquid Gold” on it and you have a bowl of ice cream heaven!
I love serving it as a dip with an assortment of dippers like apples, pretzels or chocolate cookies. Talk about an easy dish to bring to your next party. Perfect for those last minute unexpected plans like the party your spouse forgot to tell you about until the day of!

Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 6 Tablespoons Salted butter ,cut in slices
- 1/2 Cup Heavy cream at room temperature
Instructions
- In a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat dissolve sugar stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula (until the sugar begins to get hot then you want to stir constantly.) Cook until sugar turns a deep amber. ( can easily burn so watch closely!) Stir in butter until melted. Carefully add a small amount of heavy cream stirring constantly. It will bubble up. Continue to add cream until all incorporated. Whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and cool. Once it's cool you can pour into a mason jar and store in the fridge. It will thicken as it cools. If you want to sure it warm just pop it in the microwave for a few seconds.
